Vision

The BSEd program continues to produce graduates who are excellent high school teachers not only in Region VII but also in the national and global areas.

Mission

The BSEd program provide quality curricula offerings which are designed to develop highly competent, technically prepared, morally upright and globally competitive high school teachers who are responsible community members and leaders of strong ethical values.

Goals

1. Develop curricular programs that integrates theory and practice in order to produce excellent individuals who are not only equipped with the necessary pedagogical skills but also with sufficient knowledge in various disciplines.
2. Develop high school teachers who exhibit interest and devotion in the teaching profession as a mission for service.
3. Develop graduates who exhibit competence in their area of specialization and manifest meaningful and comprehensive pedagogical content knowledge in their fields.
4. Develop graduates who manifest the right attitude towards teaching and changing the world into a better place for a never-ending process of learning.
5. Promote quality research outputs that respond to the needs of local and national communities.

Admission Requirements

  1. A citizen of the Philippines.
  2. A person of good moral character.
  3. A senior high school graduate from a government recognized school.
  4. Must submit Philippine Statistics Authority Birth Certificate.
  5. Must submit a Medical Certificate.
  6. Must have a General Weighted Average of 85%.
  7. No line of 7 in all averages of all subjects.
  8. Must pass the Entrance Examination and the the Interview.
  • Articulate and discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice.
  • Effectively communicate in English and Filipino both orally and in writing.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with substantial degree of independence in multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Act in recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility.
  • Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage” (based on RA 77222).
  • Articulate the rootedness of education in philosophical, socio-cultural, historical, psychological, and political contexts.
  • Demonstrative mastery of subject matter or disciplines.
  • Facilitate learning using wide range of teaching methodologies and delivery modes appropriate to specific learners and environments.
  • Develop innovative curricula, instructional plans, teaching approaches, and resources for diverse learners.
  • Apply skills in the development and utilization of ICT to promote, quality, relevant, and sustainable educational practices.
  • Demonstrate a variety of thinking skills in planning, monitoring, assessing, and reporting learning processes and outcomes.
  • Practice professional and ethical teaching standards to the local, national, and global realities.
  • Pursue lifelong learning for personal and professional growth through varied experiential and field-based opportunities.
  • Possess broad knowledge of language and literature for effective learning.
  • Use English as a global language in a multilingual context as it applies to the teaching of language and literature.
  • Acquire extensive reading background in language, literature and allied fields.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication.
  • Shows competence in employing innovative language and literature teaching approaches, methodologies, and strategies.
  • Use technology in facilitating language learning and teaching.
  • Inspire students and colleagues to lead relevant and transformative changes to improve learning and teaching language and literature.
  • Display skills and abilities to be a reflective and research-oriented language and literature teacher.
